Design influences the world around us every day. We chat with designers, illustrators, photographers, and others to find out the stories that made them want to get into the creative world as a career, and talk with chefs, bartenders, restaurateurs and anyone else that uses their creative talent about how they use their creative talents to design their menus and restaurants.

Welcome to the Creative South Podcast, I’m your host Jason Frostholm. My guest this week is Alicja Colon. Alicja is a commercial lifestyle product photographer, based out of Savannah, GA working at Focus Lab. We talk about studying graphic design in college, and transitioning from designer to wedding photographer to a project manager and then finally into her current career. We also discuss how working with Stocksy United taught her how to better craft a story. And, when you get done listening to Alicja here go listen to her podcast Manual Focus, where she does short segments about the business of photography, all right after this.
We’re taking the Creative South podcast on the road this summer. In July, we’ll be heading to Chicago to attend Podcast Movement, a conference dedicated to— podcasting. And then in August, the podcast is heading to WMC Fest in Cleveland Ohio, to record a live episode and check out what Cleveland has to offer with some of our Creative South Family. Here’s the thing, all of this can get a bit pricey — so — we’re looking for sponsors. If you want to sponsor the Creative South Podcast, to help keep the lights on and to keep us from OD’ing on Top Ramen shoot us an email at email@example.com or hit us up on Twitter @CreativeSoPod.
Thanks for tuning in this week. You can find out more about Alicja at alicjacolon.com or follow her on Twitter @alicjacolon, and be sure to check out the show notes for more links. You can keep up with the podcast on Twitter @CreativeSoPod, and follow Creative South on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram @CreativeSouthGA or over at CreativeSouthGA.com, and I’m @jfrostholm on Dribbble, Twitter, and Instagram.
If you want to engage with the podcast more check out a new podcasting app called Remarks that allows you to add notes and comments about the episodes, get feedback from other listeners, and hear from me as well. You can find it over at Remarks.FM.
And, if you like the Creative South Podcast head over to iTunes, Stitcher, or Google Play Music – rate us and leave a review, this helps more people find the podcast and allows us to keep getting awesome guests. Now go out and Hug Some Necks!
